General Questions

Q: What are Custom Fields?

A: Custom Fields is an enhancement feature that lets you add additional fields to existing forms throughout Custojo. You can collect extra information specific to your workflow without modifying core functionality.


Q: Which modules support Custom Fields?

A: Custom Fields works with 20+ modules including:

  • Sales (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Quotes, Orders, Invoices, Cases)
  • Contract
  • HRM (Employees)
  • Projects (Projects, Tasks, Bugs)
  • Assets
  • And many more

Q: How do I access Custom Fields?

A:

  1. Log in to your dashboard
  2. Go to SettingsCustom Field
  3. Or navigate directly to /custom-field

Field Type Questions

Q: What field types are available?

A: You can choose from 9 field types:

  • Text — Single-line text
  • Email — Email address
  • Number — Numeric value
  • Date — Date picker
  • Textarea — Multi-line text
  • Attachment — File upload
  • Dropdown — Select one option
  • Checkbox — Select multiple options
  • Radio — Select one from multiple choices

Q: How do I add options to a dropdown field?

A:

  1. When creating a dropdown, checkbox, or radio field
  2. Enter options in the "Options" field (one per line or comma-separated)
  3. Example: Small, Medium, Large
  4. Save the field

Usage Questions

Q: Where do custom fields appear?

A: Custom fields appear automatically in the create and edit forms for the selected module. For example, if you create a custom field for "Sales-Account", it will appear when creating or editing Sales Accounts.


Q: Can I make a custom field required?

A: Yes! When creating or editing a custom field, you can set it as "Required" or "Optional". Required fields must be filled before saving the form.


Q: Can I reorder custom fields?

A: Yes! You can change the display order of custom fields in the Custom Fields list page. Reorder them to match your preferred workflow.


Q: Can I disable a custom field without deleting it?

A: Yes! You can enable/disable custom fields per workspace. Disabled fields won't appear in forms but can be re-enabled later.


Troubleshooting

Q: Why don't I see my custom field in the form?

A: Check:

  1. The field is enabled for your workspace
  2. You selected the correct module and sub-module
  3. You're creating/editing the right type of record
  4. Refresh the page

Q: Can I use custom fields in multiple modules?

A: Each custom field is created for a specific module and sub-module. To add the same field to multiple modules, create separate custom fields for each module.
